As it turns out, that indeterminate shape was a bookshelf!

There are several of these scattered around this place, holding all sorts of books. While she hasn't seen this particular one in a long time, she's been here long enough to be sure that whatever books it contains, she's read them cover to cover too many times to count. (There isn't much to do around here.)

One of the books was left out on the ground. She wonders whether it was some kind of reminder from her past self, or just a mess she didn't clean up.
